Mary Magdalene cave tour – 7 hours

Come and discover this sacred grotto built into the cliffs of the sainte Baume massif. It tells the story of Mary Magdalene, a disciple of Jesus Christ who was expelled from Judea and is said to have arrived at sainte Marie de la Mer in a boat without oars or a rudder. In the 1st century, she is said to have spent the last 30 years of her life evangelizing the region.

It’s a 40-minute walk, and the only way to discover her cave is on foot, then to the Basilica of Saint Maximim to see her relics – the most important pilgrimage in the Catholic West, along with Rome and Santiago de Compostela.
