REGIONAL OVERVIEW

THE SOIL
The soil is poor and well drained, very suitable for vine growing. It is made of limestone and clayey sandstone.
This terroir benefits from an exceptional amount of sunshine and a climate with slightly continental nuances, protected to the south from maritime influences by the Aurelian Mountains and the Sainte-Baume massif.
The mistral wind, a dry and regular wind, is beneficial to the vines because it cleanses the vineyard. The grapes ripen later than in the rest of the Côtes de Provence appellation, which gives the wines a characteristic freshness.
This unique terroir where the vine has been cultivated since antiquity has a profound influence on the wines produced.

THE CLIMATE
The climate is generally warm in summer and winter. Drought can be a problem for the vines.

The Color of its Wines

THE REDS
Depending on the grape variety, the soil, the climate, and whether the winemaker prefers to produce young wines or wines for ageing, the wide range of reds allows one to discover sweet red fruit and floral aromas up to generous, velvety and deep reds made to age for several months in oak barrels or in barriques.

THE ROSES
The color is pale pink, so characteristic of Côtes de Provence. Its aromatic complexity presents notes of fresh tropical fruits, floral notes but also spices and herbs. In the mouth, rosé wines have a nice acidic balance that combines freshness and roundness.

WHITE WINE
Traditionally “blanc de blanc” (fermented only from white grapes), offering a beautiful pale gold color with green highlights. Their taste characteristics are based on a delicate balance between freshness and flavor, which gives them a beautiful harmony.
